Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer to support Supplier Quality and Product Quality Engineering. You will lead problem solving, supplier qualification, risk mitigation, and cross‑functional CAPAs on complex electromechanical systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.

You’ll collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to drive end‑to‑end quality improvements from supplier to field, reporting metrics and aligning with program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering).
• 5+ years in supplier or product quality engineering or related roles; 5–8+ years preferred.
• ASQ CSQP, CQE, CMQ/OE, QA Auditor certifications preferred.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
• Experience with capital equipment or semiconductor manufacturing preferred.
• Willingness to travel ~30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality engineering improvements with audits and corrective actions.
• Develop supplier quality improvement plans and KPIs; drive audits and CAPA.
• Lead root-cause analyses (8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, CAPA).
• Analyze production and field data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain quality dashboards and KPIs aligned with program goals.
• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to apply learnings.
