Job summary

Malaysian Die-Casting Industries Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam seeks a Lead Quality professional to drive quality planning for new product introductions, ensuring robust process controls and validated quality systems before production begins.

You will own customer quality issues end-to-end, lead cross-functional teams for permanent corrective actions, and communicate transparently to restore customer confidence while preventing defects.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA to achieve world-class standards
• Own customer quality issues end-to-end; investigate, implement permanent actions and communicate transparently
• Provide technical quality leadership to production teams to prevent defects before they occur
• Drive root cause investigations with cross-functional teams using 8D and 5-Why methods
• Analyze quality data (yield, PPM, capability indices) to identify risks and prevent issues
• Plan and lead internal quality audits for ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 compliance
• Develop and refine quality standards and inspection methods; lead Kaizen and Lean to reduce waste
• Own strategic quality improvement projects delivering cost of quality reduction and yield gains
• Undertake other relevant quality improvement tasks as directed by the supervisor

Job description

Lead quality planning for new product introductions (NPI), ensuring robust process controls and quality systems are established and validated before production begins. Own customer quality issues end-to-end by leading thorough investigations, implementing permanent corrective actions, and restoring customer confidence through timely, transparent, and effective communication. Provide technical quality leadership to production teams by proactively identifying opportunities to prevent defects before they occur, rather than reacting to non-conformances after they happen.

Key responsibilities

Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to achieve world-class manufacturing standards

Drive root cause investigations and lead cross-functional teams to eliminate recurring quality issues using structured 8D (Eight Disciplines) and 5-Why methodologies, ensuring permanent systemic closure

Analyze quality performance data (e.g., yield, PPM, capability indices) to identify emerging risks, and implement preventive actions that improve process capability, increase overall yield, and enhance customer satisfaction

Plan and lead internal quality audits (process and system) to ensure strict compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards, while actively driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation

Develop and refine quality standards and inspection methods; evaluate and recommend improved measurement technologies and gauging; lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to systematically reduce defects and eliminate process waste

Take full ownership of strategic quality improvement projects that deliver measurable business results, such as cost of quality reduction, first-pass yield improvement, and supply chain quality enhancements

Undertake any other relevant tasks or quality improvement assignments as directed by the superior
