Job summary

INGENIOUS WORKS INTERNATIONAL (M) SDN BHD is seeking a QAQC Engineer (Electrical) to ensure electrical works comply with drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee inspection, testing, commissioning, and quality documentation while coordinating with project teams, consultants, clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Plan and implement QA/QC activities for electrical works in accordance with project specifications, drawings, quality plans and applicable standards.
• Prepare and manage ITPs, inspection checklists, method statements and test procedures for electrical activities.
• Conduct and coordinate inspections of electrical materials, equipment, installation, workmanship, testing and commissioning.
• Verify electrical works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and relevant codes and standards.
• Monitor testing & commissioning activities and review test results, inspection records, certificates and other quality documentation.
• Identify, document and follow up on NCRs, corrective actions and rectification works until proper closure.

Job description

We are looking for a QAQC Engineer (Electrical) to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring electrical works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The role covers inspection, testing & commissioning, quality documentation, NCR management and coordination with project teams, consultants, clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and implement QA/QC activities for electrical works in accordance with project specifications, drawings, quality plans and applicable standards.

Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, method statements and test procedures for electrical activities.

Conduct and coordinate inspections of electrical materials, equipment, installation, workmanship, testing and commissioning.

Verify electrical works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and relevant codes and standards.

Monitor testing & commissioning activities and review test results, inspection records, certificates and other quality documentation.

Identify, document and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions and rectification works until proper closure.

Maintain accurate and traceable QA/QC records, inspection reports, test records and documentation required for project handover.

Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, consultants, clients, vendors and subcontractors on quality and inspection matters.

Participate in quality audits, inspections, meetings and site reviews, and support compliance with ISO and project quality requirements.

Identify quality issues, prevent rework and defects, and contribute to continuous improvement and lessons-learned initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years' experience in Electrical QA/QC, preferably in EPCC, engineering, construction, industrial, infrastructure or M&E projects.

Good technical knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, testing and commissioning.

Hands-on experience in preparing ITPs, inspection checklists, method statements, test procedures and NCRs.

Good understanding of electrical codes, standards, project specifications and inspection requirements.

Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, vendors, subcontractors and project/site teams.

Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems will be an advantage.

Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication, coordination and documentation skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project documentation systems.

Able to work independently and effectively in a site-based, fast-paced project environment.

Relevant QA/QC, quality management or inspection certification will be an added advantage.

Basic understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices for electrical construction and commissioning.
