Job summary

AZAN ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Quality Assurance and Control Engineer to develop, implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for construction activities. You will ensure works meet approved drawings and project requirements, inspect materials and coordinate with clients, consultants and authorities.

Responsibilities include preparing ITPs, reviewing submissions, maintaining reports and participating in audits. Fresh graduates may be considered; 2–3 years in QA/QC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of QA/QC experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Fresh graduates may be considered with strong academic results.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials and drawings.
• Familiar with ITP, Method Statements, MIR, WIR, NCR and quality inspection procedures.

• Inspect materials, equipment and workmanship to meet quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including ITPs, Method Statements, checklists and inspection reports.
• Review material submissions, approvals and relevant technical documents.
• Coordinate and arrange inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors and authorities.
• Coordinate material testing and ensure testing is carried out according to project specs.
• Monitor NCRs and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Identify quality issues, investigate causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractors' work to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Maintain inspection results, test reports and other quality records.
• Assist in quality reports for project progress and handover.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits, inspections and meetings.
• Ensure QA/QC activities are documented and completed on time.
• Liaise with Project Manager, Site Engineer, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on quality matters.
• Perform other QA/QC duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Develop, implement and monitor QA/QC procedures for construction activities.

Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure they meet the required quality standards.

Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, checklists and inspection reports.

Review and verify material submissions, material approvals and relevant technical documents.

Coordinate and arrange inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors and relevant authorities.

Coordinate material testing and ensure testing is carried out according to project specifications and requirements.

Monitor and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented.

Identify quality issues, investigate the causes and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor subcontractors' work to ensure compliance with approved quality standards and procedures.

Maintain records of inspection results, test reports, approvals, NCRs and other quality-related documents.

Assist in preparing quality reports and documentation for project progress and handover.

Participate in internal and external quality audits, inspections and meetings.

Ensure all QA/QC activities are properly documented and completed within the required timeframe.

Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on quality-related matters.

Perform other duties related to quality assurance and quality control as assigned by the management.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related field.

Preferably 2–3 years of relevant experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.

Fresh graduates with strong academic qualifications may also be considered.

Good understanding of construction methods, materials, drawings and project specifications.

Familiar with ITP, Method Statements, MIR, WIR/Inspection Requests, NCR and quality inspection procedures.

Knowledge of relevant construction standards, specifications and quality requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently.

Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Willing to work at construction sites and travel to project locations when required.

Possess own transportation is an advantage.
