Job summary

Kinobi AI is seeking a QA Engineer to own quality across Staging, UAT, and Production. You will work with an international remote team to support a fast weekly release cycle, combining thorough manual testing with automation and AI-assisted tools.

You will define test plans, execute UI and API tests with Postman/Swagger, and write automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript to ensure high-quality software releases.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience as a QA Engineer, Tester, or SDET.
• Based in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive manual testing across Staging, UAT, and Production environments.
• Define, implement, and maintain test plans, test specifications, and test suites using Jest or other libraries.
• Execute UI, Functional, Smoke, Usability, Sanity, and API testing using tools like Postman and Swagger.
• Investigate, identify, document, and report defects and inconsistencies found during testing and on newly reported issues.
• Establish the QA flow for End-to-End (E2E) testing to support the weekly release of at least five features, ensuring minimal defects.
• Write automated user acceptance tests using Node.js, Playwright, and TypeScript for the Jest test automation framework.
• Work with an international remote team across different time zones to implement and execute test strategies on all supported platforms and languages, improving quality and test coverage.
• Collaborate with the crossfunctional team to support investigations or troubleshoot and verify fixes.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage, while validating the output to ensure accuracy.

About the Role:

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience as a QA Engineer, Tester, or Software Development Engineer in Test.
• Based in Malaysia.
• Experience with UI and API testing. Familiarity with automation tools like Playwright is a plus.
• Proficiency in manual testing across various environments and testing types.
• Experience working with software that has heavy features and complex interactions. Experience in a B2B environment is a plus.
• Must be able to converse comfortably in English, as you will be working with SG co-founders and team members in English conversations.
• Excellent problem-solving and investigation skills for identifying software issues.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude) and a willingness to integrate them into the QA workflow is a plus.
• Proactive, vigilant, resilient, responsible, and collaborative.
