Job summary

Penril Datability (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure software solutions align with banking industry standards. You will develop and execute test cases, perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, and validate regulatory and security requirements specific to banking.

The role requires 2–5 years of QA experience in a banking environment, with hands-on testing across the software lifecycle and solid SQL data validation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field.
• 2–5 years in software testing or QA, preferably in the banking/financial services domain.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end testing including functional, regression and UAT.
• ISTQB Certified Tester certification or equivalent.
• Familiarity with SQL for data validation and AML/KYC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and document test cases to meet banking standards.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Validate compliance with regulatory and security requirements in banking.

You will develop, execute, and document test cases, conduct various types of testing including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, and validate that applications comply with regulatory and security requirements specific to the banking sector.

Key responsibilities

• Review and maintain quality documentation and testing methodologies
• Identify, log, and prioritize software defects in coordination with development teams
• Conduct root cause analysis and work closely with developers to resolve issues
• Verify that IT solutions meet financial regulatory standards (e.g., AML, KYC)
• Conduct penetration testing or collaborate with security teams to ensure systems are secure
• Collaborate with banking clients to understand their requirements and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in software testing or QA, preferably within the banking or financial services domain
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end testing processes, including functional, regression, and UAT
• Basic scripting in Java
• Familiarity with SQL for querying and validating data integrity
• Understanding of financial compliance standards (e.g., AML, KYC)
• Strong written and verbal communication to interact with stakeholders and document findings
• ISTQB Certified Tester certification
• Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems, or Agile/Scrum certification
