Overview
Are you an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer in automotive industry and have great passion in ensuring higher quality standard of
a) new product development,
b) incoming material via supplier quality management? We're looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineers to join our team!
Key Responsibilities
(I) Development Quality Assurance
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders in developing and implementing quality control plans and systems to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Conduct various tests throughout the development lifecycle to identify defects, ensure functionality, and verify that products meet quality requirements.
- Analyze issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions to improve product quality and the development process.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends, track quality metrics, and prepare reports to document findings and inform decision-making.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Ensure that products and processes adhere to relevant standards and regulations and may conduct audits to verify compliance.
- Monitor post-launch product performance, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement efforts. Inspect and test products at various stages of production to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, working with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and reports on quality audits and product inspections.
(II) Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE)
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet quality requirements, including adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits (physical or virtual) of suppliers to ensure they maintain the required quality standards and processes.
- Monitor and oversee supplier quality control activities to ensure incoming materials and products meet specifications and standards.
- Identify and address any quality issues that arise with supplier products, working with suppliers to find solutions.
- Track and report on supplier performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
- Involve in developing and implementing quality control systems, as well as facilitating product and process improvements within the supplier network.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with both internal stakeholders (R&D, Purchasing, Engineering) and external suppliers to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications, manufacturing processes, and relevant standards to effectively evaluate supplier performance.
Requirements and Skills
- A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Strong knowledge of automotive industry quality management system (IATF16949, ISO9001) and automotive core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA and FMEA).
- Ability to interpret technical drawing and GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is an advantage.
- Ability to understand the concept or man oeuvre certain sophisticated measuring equipment such as contact device (CMM), non-contact device (2D/laser scope, profile projector), etc is an advantage.
- Knowledge in 7 QC tools, DMAIC and problem-solving skills (8D concept) is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills: Presenting findings clearly and asking the right questions about projects and processes.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to speak and write in Mandarin (to communicate with China clients and suppliers) is an advantage.
