Job summary

First Principles seeks an expert in test automation who blends QA, engineering, and product sensibilities. You will help shape a first-class automated suite across API, web UI, and service layers, starting with manual testing to deeply learn the system.

You’ll later automate comprehensively, using AI tooling where helpful, while maintaining the ability to review and write code as needed. This role emphasizes real customer flows and robust quality assurances.

Qualifications

• Automation expertise in UI and API testing with modern frameworks.
• Strong test-case creation and methodical bug reproduction skills.
• Experience with distributed/event-driven systems and queues.
• Engineering ability in Python/JS/TypeScript for tooling.
• Product empathy to understand real user flows and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manual and release testing across features, with regression coverage.
• Build and maintain automated test suites for API, UI, and services.
• Own the test environment and proxy API simulating production behavior.
• Reproduce issues, document steps, logs, and metrics clearly.
• Support performance/load testing and CI test scheduling.
• Configure environments and contribute to lightweight DevOps.
