Job summary

Hong Leong Bank Berhad is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer (Generative AI Specialist) to design, develop, and deploy ML and Generative AI solutions in real‑world banking applications.

The role requires 5–6 years of hands‑on AI/ML experience, strong Python and ML framework background, and proficiency with cloud platforms. You will build end‑to‑end AI systems, ensure responsible AI practices, and mentor junior engineers across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.
• 5–6 years of hands‑on experience in AI/ML solution development.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, scikit‑learn.
• Strong background in deep learning, NLP, and generative model development (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, Stable Diffusion).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize ML/AI models for production use cases across NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems.
• Develop and fine‑tune Generative AI models (LLMs, diffusion models, transformers) for tasks such as text generation, summarization, conversation, or multimodal solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to collect, preprocess, and manage large datasets for training and evaluation.
• Deploy AI/ML pipelines and integrate models into business applications using APIs, microservices, or cloud‑native solutions.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI/ML frameworks, libraries, and model architectures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure model fairness, interpretability, and compliance with ethical AI practices.
• Document workflows, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers in AI/ML best practices.

Role Overview

• Familiarity with vector databases, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and prompt engineering techniques.
• Knowledge of MLOps best practices: CI/CD for ML, monitoring, and model lifecycle management.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
