SME Careers is seeking a Public Health SME to review AI-generated health content and provide expert feedback in a remote, hourly contractor role. This position is remote and offers potential future projects through our expert network.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in public health or related field, MPH preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years in public health (government/public sector, NGOs, academia, healthcare systems, global health, consulting).
Strong public health reasoning including problem framing, causal thinking, bias awareness, risk stratification, and prioritization.
Solid understanding of disease processes at population level, prevention strategies, and vaccination principles.
Excellent attention to detail for fact-checking and identifying unsafe assumptions or misleading claims; C1 English proficiency.
Ability to deliver high-quality work in hourly remote contractor setup across time zones.

Responsibilities

Develop AI Training Content: create prompts and gold-standard answers across epidemiology and public health topics.
Optimize AI Performance: evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and scientific rigor.
Ensure Model Integrity: test outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe recommendations, and bias; validate across populations.
