A leading construction firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Protégé - Architect for an 8-month contract, working closely with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR). This role involves supporting architectural functions in government projects, including design coordination, documentation, and site monitoring. Ideal for architecture graduates, the position offers a monthly allowance of RM2,000, plus training sessions and medical coverage. Flexible working hours are part of the arrangement, providing valuable exposure to public sector project processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Strong design, creative, and visualization skills.
• Proficient in architectural software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Suite).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets and bills of quantities.
• Support tendering processes and evaluate bids.

OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB

The Protégé - Architect will be attached to Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) and will support architectural and technical functions in government project implementation, including design coordination, documentation and site monitoring. This role provides practical exposure to public sector project processes, making it ideal for graduates passionate about architecture and project delivery.

PRIMARY TASKS

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets and bills of quantities (BOQ).
• Support tendering processes, including evaluating bids and preparing documentation.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure accurate project cost control.
• Assist in the preparation of contract documentation and variation orders.
• Research construction materials, labour costs, and market trends.
• Provide support in ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely project delivery within budget.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

Contract: 8 months

Working Days: 5 days a week.

Working Hours: Flexible hours.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Strong design, creative, and visualization skills.
• Proficient in architectural software (e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Suite).
• Actively involved in university activities.
