Job summary

Ambition in Johor seeks a commercially minded finance leader with property development accounting expertise to manage full-set accounts, project costing, and statutory compliance. You'll partner with senior management to keep multiple developments financially on track.

The role covers budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and controls, leading a small accounts team; a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and ACCA/CPA are preferred, with 5+ years in property development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA) is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of financial accounting experience, with at least 3 years in property development.
• Familiar with residential, commercial and industrial development accounting.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS and Malaysian statutory and tax requirements.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Microsoft Office; IFCA familiarity is a bonus.
• Driven, analytical, high integrity, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-set accounts and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare management accounts and periodic financial statements for senior leadership.
• Monitor project costing, progress billing, and development expenditure.
• Manage payables and receivables, including contractor, supplier, and purchaser payments.
• Ensure compliance with MFRS, the Companies Act, and all statutory requirements.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Supervise the accounts team and strengthen internal controls.
