Job summary

Dexian Malaysia is seeking an experienced Project Planner to develop, maintain, and update the project master schedule using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Ensure alignment with project scope, milestones, and contractual deliverables, and coordinate with EPC/EPCC teams to gather progress data for timely updates.

• Minimum 5 years of planning or project controls experience.
• Strong experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Good Excel skills; Power BI familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update the project master schedule using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Prepare baseline schedules and monitor progress against baseline, identify variances and delays.
• Coordinate with EPC/EPCC teams to gather progress data and update schedules.
• Perform schedule analysis, including critical path analysis, to identify risks and mitigation plans.
• Prepare periodic progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly) with S-curves and productivity metrics.
• Support cost/resource loading of the schedule and coordinate with cost control for reporting.
• Track and report project KPIs, man-hours, and productivity against targets.
• Prepare and maintain dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or other tools.
• Assist in change management by evaluating schedule impacts of variations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain schedules and progress updates.
• Support project risk management by identifying schedule-related risks.
• Participate in planning meetings and provide schedule-related inputs.
• Ensure scheduling practices comply with company procedures and best practices.
• Maintain documentation of revisions, progress reports, and planning correspondence.

Job description

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant project planning/project controls experience, preferably in EPC/EPCC, power generation, infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is required.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or other project reporting tools is an advantage.
• Equivalent certification is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform schedule analysis, including critical path analysis, to identify risks and recommend mitigation or recovery plans.
• Prepare periodic progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly) including S-curves, histograms, and productivity metrics for management and client review.
• Support cost/resource loading of the schedule and coordinate with cost control for integrated project controls reporting.
• Track and report project KPIs, man-hours, and productivity against planned targets.
• Prepare and maintain reporting dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools for progress visualization.
• Assist in change management by evaluating schedule impacts of variations, delays, or scope changes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain and validate their schedules and progress updates.
• Support project risk management by identifying schedule-related risks and contributing to risk registers.
• Participate in project planning meetings, progress review meetings, and provide schedule-related inputs.
