Job summary

ABB in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead medium-to-large E-House, Oil & Gas, and Offshore Wind projects for international clients. You will head the project team, shape execution plans, monitor progress, and ensure quality, HSE, and financial targets are met.

The role emphasizes leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration with Sales and Tendering, with a hybrid work setup in a dynamic, multicultural environment. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10+ years of proven project management experience in complex industrial projects.
• Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, and delivery of large-scale E-House, Electrification, and Automation projects within Oil & Gas, Offshore, FPSO, and Renewable Energy sectors.
• Advanced proficiency across Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Project Controls with strong technical understanding.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities with proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage diverse, multicultural teams in dynamic international environments.
• Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management and communication skills with fluency in English and strong presentation capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of ABB Project Management Framework, quality standards, health, safety & environment (HSE) compliance, and financial management protocols.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex technical, logistical, and interpersonal challenges professionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, establishing the project execution approach, and overseeing project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
• Provide leadership and active involvement in continuous improvement and simplification.
• Support local Sales and Tendering through early involvement in tenders.
• Drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.
• Define, jointly with Project Controller, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans according to ABB management Framework.
