Job summary

PMX Malaysia Sdn Bhd is building the future of data centers in Southeast Asia. We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager to take full ownership of data center projects from planning to completion, coordinating with engineers, subcontractors and clients to ensure delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, with 5–10 years in construction project management,

Qualifications

• Hands-on and experienced Project Manager with strong technical and leadership capabilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience in data center or mission-critical projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure (M&E systems).
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Proficiency in project scheduling, cost control, and budgeting.
• Knowledge of contracts, tendering, and commercial aspects.
• Experience in risk management, quality control, and HSE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of project execution from planning to completion.
• Developing and executing project work plans and adjusting as requirements evolve.
• Managing the full lifecycle of projects including planning, execution, monitoring, and handover.
• Ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Preparing and maintaining project schedules and progress tracking.
• Overseeing day-to-day project operations and scope management.
• Applying structured project management methodologies for consistency and efficiency.
• Leading project reviews, audits, and quality assurance.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks through proactive planning.
• Managing subcontractors, including performance, coordination, and compliance.
• Handling project communication, meetings, and stakeholder coordination.
• Preparing and managing progress claims, invoicing, and financial tracking.
• Ensuring all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Managing contractual matters, notices, and issue resolution.
• Supporting tender and bidding processes when required.
• Assisting Senior Project Manager with additional responsibilities.

What we're looking for:

We're seeking a hands-on and experienced Project Manager with strong technical and leadership capabilities:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

5-10 years of experience in construction project management, with data center or mission-critical experience preferred

Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, especially M&E systems (HVAC, UPS, generators, cooling, fire protection, ELV)

Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and consultants

Solid knowledge in project scheduling, cost control, and budgeting

Proficiency in tools like MS Project or Primavera or Autodesk Construction Cloud

Good understanding of contracts, tendering, and commercial aspects

Experience in risk management, quality control, and HSE compliance

Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments (typical for data center projects)

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Experience handling progress claims, invoicing, and reporting

Leadership skills to drive and coordinate project teams effectively

Willingness to be site-based or travel depending on project needs
