Job summary

Kairo Technology Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data centre and infrastructure consultancy projects on a 6–12 month contract basis.

The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing schedules, and maintaining client communication to ensure on-time delivery with high quality.

Immediate availability is preferred; applicants with data centre exposure and senior project management background will be prioritized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience.
• Candidates with data centre or related infrastructure experience will be strongly preferred.
• Experience in industries like engineering consultancy, power infrastructure, MEP, utilities or semiconductor is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the engineering design and consultancy process.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines while communicating with stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English and ability to interact with clients and senior project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate engineering design consultancy activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, deliverable schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate between client, consultants, engineers, vendors and contractors.
• Lead design coordination meetings and project progress meetings.
• Monitor progress of drawings, calculations, submissions and specifications.
• Ensure deliverables meet the project programme and client requirements.
• Identify interfaces, risks and delays and drive timely resolutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical/HVAC, controls/BMS, fire protection and structural interfaces.
• Review technical submissions, RFIs and design changes.
• Maintain action lists and ensure timely closure with responsible parties.
• Provide regular progress updates to management and the client.
• Assist in managing scope, variations and changes affecting deliverables or resources.
• Support technical discussions with client and consultants as required.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication throughout the project.
• Provide leadership to the project/design coordination team.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate would have previous experience in one or more of the following:

• Data centre design and consultancy projects
• Electrical and mechanical infrastructure
• Power distribution systems
• MEP design coordination
• Engineering consultant or client-side project management
• Design management and multidisciplinary engineering coordination

Contract Arrangement

This position is offered on a project-based contract basis, typically for a period of 6 to 12 months, depending on the duration and requirements of the project.

The contract may be extended or renewed subject to project requirements and performance.

Salary

RM15,000 – RM20,000 per month

Final remuneration will be determined based on the candidate's experience, technical background, data centre exposure and ability to independently manage complex consultancy projects.

Immediate availability is highly preferred.

Responsibility

• Manage and coordinate engineering design consultancy activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, deliverable schedules and key design milestones.
• Coordinate between client, consultants, engineers, vendors, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Lead and participate in design coordination meetings, technical meetings and project progress meetings.
• Monitor the progress of engineering drawings, calculations, technical submissions, specifications and other project deliverables.
• Ensure design deliverables are completed according to the agreed project programme and client requirements.
• Identify design interfaces, coordination issues, project risks and potential delays, and drive the relevant parties toward timely resolution.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces, particularly between Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, Controls/BMS, Fire Protection, Structural and other related disciplines.
• Review and track technical submissions, RFIs, comments, design changes and consultant/client responses.
• Maintain clear project action lists and follow up with responsible parties to ensure timely closure.
• Provide regular project progress updates and reports to management and the client.
• Assist in managing project scope, variations and changes that may affect deliverables, schedule or resources.
• Support technical discussions with the client and consultants where required.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication throughout the project.
• Provide leadership and direction to the project/design coordination team.
