Job summary

Port of Tanjung Pelepas invites fresh graduates and driven engineers to join the Project Support team as Project Engineer. You will assist project managers across project engineering, management, site coordination and QA/QC, gaining hands-on experience in port infrastructure and capital projects within a maritime environment.

Ideal candidates are able to work independently, communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and contribute to safety, compliance and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or related fields.
• Preferably 3 years of project management experience in civil, infrastructure, port, maritime or related industries.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Exposure to building services, marine and infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of contract management and local building codes would be an added advantage.
• PMP certification or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft Project.
• Well-organised with the ability to identify issues and coordinate actions.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in the execution and delivery of projects per Project Implementation Framework.
• Ensure activities comply with contractual requirements, quality plans and QA/QC standards.
• Coordinate site activities with internal teams, consultants, and contractors across civil, electrical and mechanical works.
• Support pre- and post-project contractual matters including technical reviews, tender prep and evaluation.
• Liaise with local authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support project management, site supervision and coordination throughout implementation.
• Inspect and validate works to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities with project stakeholders.
• Monitor project issues and follow through on actions until resolution.
• Promote and ensure compliance with site safety requirements and practices.

PID is responsible for PTP's strategic and large capital investments. As part of the Project Support team, the Project Engineer will support project managers across project engineering, project management, site coordination, and QA/QC activities.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Exposure to building services, marine projects and infrastructure projects such as land, road, water and sewerage works would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of contract management, local building codes and regulations would be an added advantage.
• PMP certification or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft Project.
