Job summary

ABB is seeking a Project Controller in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia to drive financial performance for multiple projects. You will partner with the Project Management team to support financial and commercial matters and actively drive project performance.

The role reports to the Finance Manager and requires strong SAP, Excel and Power BI skills, with fluency in English. A hybrid work model is offered to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Professional Certificate in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 to 10 years of working experience in project controlling, project finance or controlling in Project environment is preferred.
• Experience in financial project control, with a track record of successfully managing projects is preferred.
• Experience in a multi-cultural team environment is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in SAP and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, as well as Power BI.
• Fluent in English both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Active participation at tendering stage to negotiate on commercial issues and financial aspects for new opportunities of the project execution plan.
• Monthly project review and driving financial performance including optimization of project cash flow, revenues, and gross margin contribution and effectively managing currency risk, and bonds, guarantees, and tax issues.
• Reviewing risks & contingencies on regular basis and take appropriate actions to reflect impact on the project as and when required.
• Ensuring the accuracy of project balance sheet, income and cash flow statements, and monthly/quarterly forecast and participating in opportunity/risk identification, monitoring risk mitigation measures, and ensuring they are timely implemented.
• Promoting commercial awareness in the project team and providing commercial input to the project execution plan (such as T&Cs in supply management, claims, back-to-back conditions).
• Ensuring adherence to ABB’s corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal controls, and business specific finance directives and instructions.
