Job summary

Infinecs Systems in Penang is seeking an experienced Program Manager – Design Services to lead end-to-end semiconductor design programs and guide cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule, budget, and quality.

You will drive proposals, manage budgets, and mentor engineers while expanding existing engagements and building long-term partnerships with customers and partners in industrial and automotive electronics.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager – Design Services to lead and drive the successful execution and growth of our semiconductor design services business.

The role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of semiconductor design programs, from customer engagement and project planning through resource management, technical execution, quality, schedule, and commercial performance. The Program Manager will work closely with customers, engineering teams, business partners, and senior management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end semiconductor design service programs, ensuring delivery meets agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
• Develop project plans, milestones, resource requirements, budgets, and delivery strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams and manage project dependencies, risks, issues, and changes.
• Monitor project performance and establish appropriate KPIs, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Ensure effective resource allocation and utilization across multiple projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in project execution, delivery quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Serve as a key point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and other strategic stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing engagements and develop long-term customer relationships.
• Develop proposals, statements of work, project estimates, and commercial models in collaboration with engineering and management teams.
• Support contract, scope, pricing, and commercial negotiations to achieve sustainable and profitable engagements.
• Develop and maintain a healthy sales and project pipeline.
• Leverage semiconductor design and physical design knowledge to provide effective technical and program-level leadership.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams to identify technical risks, resource constraints, and delivery challenges.
• Manage project budgets, costs, resource utilization, and overall commercial performance.
• Drive revenue growth and profitability across the Design Services portfolio.
• Strengthen customer engagement through successful project delivery, technical collaboration, repeat business, and expansion of existing accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in semiconductor design, IC design, physical design, or semiconductor design services.
• Proven experience in program/project management within the semiconductor industry.
• Experience managing multiple projects, engineering teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Experience in a customer-facing or business development role within the semiconductor or engineering services industry is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, commercial considerations, and delivery performance.
• Strong understanding of ASIC/SoC development and semiconductor design flows, with solid knowledge of physical design preferred.
• Understanding of physical design activities such as floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing closure, physical verification, and sign-off is advantageous.
• Familiarity with semiconductor EDA tools, design methodologies, and industry practices.
• Knowledge of semiconductor market trends and applications, particularly industrial and automotive electronics, is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical engineering teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, people management, mentoring, and team-building capabilities.
• Results-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and business development activities when required.
