Job summary

UPC Chemicals (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Production Technician to monitor plant equipment, sample products, and maintain log sheets. The role requires safety awareness, routine machine checks, and participation in emergency response. Fresh graduates with a Diploma in Chemical Engineering are encouraged to apply.

SOC: The candidate should be a fast learner with the ability to read P&ID diagrams (an advantage) and be willing to adapt in a dynamic petrochemical environment in Kuantan, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a process technician in petrochemical/oleo-chemical industries.
• Diploma in Chemical Engineering; fresh graduates welcome.
• Ability to read P&ID is an advantage.
• Fast learner with willingness to adapt.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant equipment to ensure a smooth process.
• Sampling of product.
• Taking log reports/field log sheets.
• Operate valves, pumps and process equipment.
• Routine checks on all machines.
• Responsible for safety and housekeeping in designated areas.
• Carry out safety inspections and be part of the Plant Emergency/Fire Brigade.
• Report any abnormality; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

To monitor plant equipment to ensure smooth process;

Sampling of product;

Taking log report / field log sheet;

Operate valves, pumps and process equipment’s;

Routine check on all machines;

Responsible for safety and housekeeping in designated areas;

Performing duties with safety awareness all times and regularly carry out inspection on all safety equipment in the area;

Serves on the Plant Emergency/Fire Brigade and understands how to handle emergencies that arise;

Report for any abnormality;

All other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirement:

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a process technician in the Petrochemical or Oleo chemical industries.

A diploma in Chemical Engineering (fresh graduates are welcome to apply).

The ability to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) is an advantage.

A fast learner with a strong willingness to adapt.
