Job summary

SEFAR FABRICATION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to convert demand forecasts into actionable production schedules, minimize delays, and optimize material planning in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a degree in a related field and 2–5 years of production planning experience, with strong ERP skills, math and data analysis capabilities, and excellent organizational and communication abilities to coordinate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent manufacturing experience).
• 2–5 years of proven experience as a production planner, scheduler, or similar logistics role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
• Excellent math, statistical, and data analysis capabilities used to interpret demand data and control production costs.
• Outstanding organizational, multi-tasking, communication, and proactive problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and adjust the Production Schedule and material planning based on incoming orders and demand forecasts.
• Resource Allocation: Estimate and coordinate the required manpower, equipment capacity, and raw materials needed for every production cycle.
• Inventory Management: Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods levels to ensure optimal stock while preventing costly shortages or excess storage costs.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement, logistics, warehouse, engineering, and quality control teams to align timelines and materials.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify production bottlenecks, material shortages, or labor gaps, and implement swift contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
• Performance Reporting: Collect daily/weekly output data, track KPIs (e.g., yield trends, waste reduction, schedule adherence), and present progress reports to upper management.
