Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG in Malaysia (Penang) seeks an experienced Production Planning Lead to manage demand forecasts, capacity planning, and scheduling across manufacturing lines. You will coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality and cost targets.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 and FASTEM.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate production planning to meet customer demand with on-time delivery and quality at reasonable cost.
• Perform long-term machine capacity planning and manpower forecasting.
• Collaborate with order processing to resolve scheduling or capacity conflicts in the best interest of the customer.
• Plan and adjust production schedules based on demand and lead times.
• Monitor daily production progress to ensure activities follow the plan.
• Coordinate with functions to ensure resources (manpower, materials, jigs, machines) are available.
• Support new product introductions by defining processes and resources.
• Ensure accurate data entry in Dynamics ERP (D365) and FASTEM systems.
• Communicate with responsible departments on quality issues, parts availability and delivery deadlines; implement improvements.
• Maintain optimum stock levels for finished goods and components.
• Accept tasks from supervisor to improve current systems.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Production Planning.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Leading and coordinate production planning section, perform strategic planning to meet customer demand, with timely delivery of all products in required quality and at reasonable cost level


• Perform long term machine capacity planning and manpower requirement according to forecast, ensure resources are utilized fully and effectively


• Work closely with order processing, making strategic decisions in case and conflict in schedule or capacity for the best interest of customer in terms of delivery and cost


• Plan, regulate and alter production schedule according to demand and with established manufacturing sequences and lead times


• Follow up daily production progress to ensure all activities are carried out according to plan


• Expedite production operations by organizing with various functions and ensuring availability of necessary resources e.g. manpower, raw material, jigs/fixture, as well as machine with right program and parameter


• Support new product introduction to define new processes and resources required


• Ensure accurate information while planning using Dynamics ERP system (D365) and Flexible Manufacturing System (FASTEM) with accurate data entry and timely transactions


• Communication with all responsible departments in case of quality issues, availability of parts and components, critical delivery deadlines, initiation and implementation of improvement measures.


• Ensure optimum stock level at both finished goods store and material kitting area to meet demand and delivery


• To assume tasks, assignment given by supervisor as deemed necessary in improving current system


• Minimum 5years of working experience in Production Planning.
