Job summary

Messer Industrial Gases Sdn. Bhd., Semenyih is seeking a Production Operator to support daily gas production and filling operations, operating and monitoring plant equipment, and handling gas cylinders in a safety-conscious environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient production and maintain accurate records. Fresh graduates are welcome; overtime may be required depending on operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, plant operations or an industrial environment will be an advantage.
• Experience in gas filling, cylinder handling or industrial gases will be an added advantage.
• Willing to work in a production and industrial environment.
• Physically fit and able to perform operational and cylinder-handling tasks.
• Safety-conscious, responsible and disciplined.
• Able to follow instructions, standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willing to work overtime or according to operational requirements when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas production and filling equipment to ensure safe, efficient and continuous plant operations.
• Monitor control panels, equipment gauges, pressure, temperature, flow rates and other operating parameters.
• Perform gas filling, cylinder handling and other production activities in accordance with established operating procedures.
• Make necessary operational adjustments to maintain the required pressure, flow and production parameters.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting, and report abnormalities or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and movement of industrial gas cylinders and materials within the plant.
• Monitor and maintain production records, equipment readings, filling records, checklists and daily operational logs accurately.
• Ensure all production activities comply with company procedures, quality requirements and occupational safety and health standards.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure safety devices, PPE and emergency equipment are properly maintained and available.
• Immediately report equipment breakdowns, gas leaks, safety hazards or other operational abnormalities.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness within the production and plant areas.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse and other relevant departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Participate in safety briefings, toolbox meetings, emergency drills and other plant safety activities.
• Support loading and unloading activities and ensure gas cylinders are handled safely and correctly when required.
• Perform other production and operational duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

About the Role

The role involves supporting daily industrial gas production and filling operations, operating and monitoring plant equipment, handling gas cylinders and materials, and ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with established procedures and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
