Job summary

Qnnect (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated Production Intern to join the Production Department in Penang. You will gain hands-on experience in material planning, inventory control and manufacturing operations while contributing to company projects.

You will assist in replenishment planning, material issuance and stock movement, and participate in cycle counts and audits. This internship offers exposure to MRP and data analysis within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with ERP/production planning tools is a plus.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and coordinating replenishment of direct and indirect materials.
• Support material issuance, transfer and inventory movement.
• Participate in cycle counts, stock counts and audits.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and improve stock accuracy.
• Learn material consumption trends and prepare inventory reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Planning teams.
• Assist in FIFO practices and material flow optimization.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Production Management.

Job description

We are seeking highly motivated production intern to join our Production Department. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in material planning, inventory control and manufacturing operations while participating in key company projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in planning and coordinating the replenishment of direct and indirect materials to ensure timely support for daily production requirements.

Support in material issuance, transfer and inventory movement to ensure accurate record and timely update of inventory transactions.

Participate in cycle counts, stock counts and inventory audits.

Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies to improve stock accuracy if needed.

Learn material consumption trends and prepare inventory and material analysis reports to support inventory planning and decision making.

Coordinate within related departments such as Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Planning teams for material related matters.

Assist in material storage, identification and FIFO practices to enhance inventory control and optimize material flow.

Perform other duties assigned by the Production Management.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or any relevant field.

Able to commit to a 4-6 month internship period.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Knowledgeable in Pivot Table, VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP is added advantage.

Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail.

Willing to work in manufacture environment and perform shop floor activities.

Keen to learn and able to adapt in a fast-paced manufacture and operational environment.
