Job summary

Air Liquide Malaysia is seeking a Production Engineer (Melaka) to lead safe, reliable site operations and drive continuous improvement across plant processes. You will monitor performance, manage maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires a chemical engineering degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with strong leadership and collaboration skills to guide technicians and coordinate with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in related industry with chemical process operations.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead a collaborative team of technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe and reliable site operations by monitoring performance and ensuring procedures align with industry practices.
• Identify key performance indicators and use data to implement actionable improvement strategies.
• Optimize plant processes to meet operational budgets while maintaining high efficiency, availability and reliability.
• Own site maintenance regime, ensure full compliance, manage work orders and coordinate spare parts.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize unplanned downtime and schedule activities for peak availability.
• Promote safety-first culture with MOC and permit-to-work requirements and near-miss reporting.
• Maintain up-to-date operating documentation and SOPs for team guidance.
• Provide ongoing training and ensure personnel are fully qualified for their tasks.
• Ensure IMS compliance and liaise with authorities on HSE standards.
• Provide support during emergencies, troubleshoot, investigate non-conformities and implement preventive actions.
