Job summary

UPC Technology Corporation in Malaysia seeks a Production Engineer to drive process optimization, minimize downtime and ensure cost effectiveness while meeting group standards.

You will analyze processes, perform debottlenecking, participate in MOC and POL, train the team, and ensure ISO 9001:2015 compliance. Candidate must have a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years working experience in a related role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety issues for the process, environment and product are considered at all stages.
• Perform process optimization to meet unit consumption standards for raw materials and utilities.
• Minimize downtime and debottleneck production through process analysis and improvements.
• Utilise troubleshooting tools (Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone) to identify root causes and countermeasures.
• Support EaMIC-based maintenance to keep plant equipment in good condition.
• Monitor catalyst performance and coordinate with BASF on efficient operation.
• Drive product quality to meet group standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Standardize procedures by timely review of SOPs and reduce mis-operations.
• Lead plant improvement projects with MOC, POL tracking to completion.
• Provide technical training to the team and enhance skills.
• Assist stock counts and propose improvements to stock accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015.

Job description

Ensure that potential safety issues related to the technician, the environment, the process and the product are considered at all stages.

Perform process optimization to ensure production cost effectiveness by meeting group standard of unit consumption in both raw material and utilities.

Ensure efficiency of the process to meet production target by minimizing or eliminating process downtime as well as optimizing production by analysing processes and compiling debottleneck studies. Besides to fully utilize trouble shooting tools such as Why-Why Analysis, Fish Bone etc to identify the root cause and implement effective countermeasure.

Utilisation of EaMIC for plant equipment preventive and corrective maintenance program to ensure plant equipment in good condition and maintain high efficiency.

Responsible for catalyst performance with closely follow up on the Reaction of Gas (ROG) result and communicate with BASF Catalyst vendor on strategy to run the catalyst efficiently.

Ensure product quality meet the group standard and continue to improve the product quality to ensure product competitiveness in the market.

Ensure standardization of procedures through reviewing of Standard Operation Procedures timely and subsequently eliminating miss-operation.

Responsible for plant improvement projects by initiating project proposals and conduct Management of Change (MOC), updating Project On-Line (POL) and follow up on the project progress until the project completion.

Provide technical training to the team to improve the teams’ skill and knowledge.

Provide support during stock count activities and propose improvement from time to time to improve the stock count accuracy.

Ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2015 quality standard.

Perform all other duties, activities and responsibility that may be assigned by the superior whenever necessary

1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

2. At least 2 years working experience.
