Job summary

Bunge in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia is seeking a Production Leader to coordinate and optimise all production operations, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing that meets quality, safety, and delivery standards. The role manages planning, resource allocation, and budgets while driving continuous improvement in line with FSSC, GMP, HACCP, and BPS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily production operations, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting.
• Monitor plant operations and escalate abnormalities with corrective actions.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards across the plant.
• Ensure compliance with BPS, FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP and other standards.
• Drive safety culture and conduct toolbox talks.
• Plan and manage CAPEX and maintenance budgets within approved limits.
• Lead new product trials and evaluate outcomes.
• Develop workforce capability through training and coaching.
• Optimise manpower while complying with SEDEX and labour standards.
• Support plant commissioning, shutdowns, and breakdowns as needed.
• Ensure zero spillage and contamination through QC procedures.
• Drive KPIs and implement corrective actions for performance gaps.
• Lead shutdown maintenance and statutory inspections (e.g., JKKP).
• Participate in plant rotations to broaden process knowledge.
• Collaborate with maintenance and external contractors to resolve issues affecting production and delivery.
• Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly performance reports with variance analyses.
• Coordinate with QA, QC, Utilities/Pumphouse, and support functions for seamless operations.
• Undertake additional tasks from management as required.

The role is responsible for managing production planning, resource allocation, and operational performance, while driving continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to regulatory and industry standards (including FSSC, GMP, HACCP, and BPS), maintaining a safe working environment, supporting audits, resolving operational issues through root cause analysis, and managing budgets effectively for both operational and capital expenditures.

Main Accounbilities

• Lead and supervise daily production operations, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth and efficient plant performance.
• Monitor plant operations and promptly escalatem any abnormalities, ensuring appropriate corrective actions and support are implemented.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and enforce 5S practices across the plant.
• Ensure full implementation and compliance with BPS, FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP, and other applicable standards.
• Drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety requirements and conducting regular toolbox talks with the team.
• Plan, prepare, and manage CAPEX and repair & maintenance budgets, ensuring effective execution within approved limits.
• Lead and support new product trials in the plant, ensuring successful execution and evaluation.
• Develop and enhance workforce capability by identifying training needs, designing training programmes, and coaching plant personnel on technical and soft skills.
• Optimise manpower utilisation while ensuring compliance with SEDEX and labour standards requirements.
• Provide operational support during plant commissioning, shutdowns, and breakdowns, including standby or call-back readiness when required.
• Ensure zero spillage and contamination through strict adherence to operational and quality control procedures.
• Drive production performance to achieve KPIs, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions to close them.
• Lead and manage shutdown maintenance activities, including coordination of statutory inspections (e.g., JKKP).
• Participate in plant rotation assignments to broaden process knowledge and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance teams and external contractors to resolve issues that may impact production and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports, including analysis of variances and corrective action plans.
• Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., QA, QC, Utilities/Pumphouse, and other support functions) to ensure seamless operations.
• Carry out any additional tasks or projects assigned by management from time to time.

Requirement

• Minimum 3 years and above of working experience in manufacturing field
• Min Bachelor Degree in mechanical/chemical engineering
• Hardworking with positive attitude and aggressive
• Able to write and speak in Malay and English fluently
• Knowledge in edible oil refinery or fractionation
• Knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP and GMP requirement
• Competency in Waste Water Treatment Plant or Filter Bag Operation
