Job summary

SICK Sdn Bhd in Ulu Tiram, Johor, is seeking a Product Quality Engineer. The role focuses on defect analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvements in manufacturing.

You will work with Production, Engineering and R&D to ensure high quality and reliability. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Electronic Engineering or Quality Management and at least 3 years in quality roles, with expertise in SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of quality engineering/QA experience in manufacturing
• Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing
• Proficiency using Six Sigma, Kaizen, and quality data analysis tools
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to high quality standards

Responsibilities

• Perform defect analysis and provide feedback for immediate actions
• Support Production & Engineering to identify and resolve issues
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions
• Contribute to NPI projects with product history inputs
• Lead quality improvement activities with Production, Engineering and R&D
• Assist and monitor control run activities and publish results
• Monitor scrap trends and take actions to reduce issues
• Conduct process audits and follow-up on findings
• Coordinate with SQA on material quality issues
• Raise Engineering Change Requests as needed
• Generate weekly/monthly reports
• Assist in Product Safety Audits and action plans
• Analyze field returns and defective products as required
• Analyze quality data to identify process improvements
• Handle any additional tasks assigned by supervisor

What you'll be doing

• Defect analysis and feedback for immediate actions
• Support Production & Engineering to identify and resolve problems
• Verify implemented corrective actions for its effectiveness
• Involvement in NPI projects for better product knowledge and give inputs from the previous product history for improvement
• Lead quality improvement activities with Production, Engineering and R&D
• Assist and monitor "control run" activities and publish its results
• Monitor quality and scrap cost trends and take appropriate actions to reduce issues
• Process audit and follow up on action plans on the findings
• Feedback and follow up with SQA on any material quality issues
• Raise Engineering Change Request as and when required
• Generation of weekly / monthly report
• Assist in Product Safety Audit and action plan on the findings
• Support analysis of field returns defective products as and when required
• Analyzing quality data and identifying areas for improvement in the manufacturing process
• Any additional tasks as and when assigned by superior

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Quality Management, or any related field

Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality engineering or quality assurance role, preferably in the manufacturing field

Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control, and lean manufacturing techniques

Proficiency in using quality management tools and software, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and quality data analysis

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
