Job description

Tau by Taylor's is the corporate learning and capability-building business of Taylor's Education Group, created to help individuals and organisations build the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We partner with organisations to understand their business priorities, workforce challenges and future capability needs. From leadership and professional development to emerging areas such as technology, data and artificial intelligence, we design practical learning experiences that are relevant to the workplace and focused on real-world application

Our ambition is to go beyond traditional training. We believe meaningful learning should strengthen performance, build confidence and create lasting impact for both individuals and organisations. By combining Taylor's established educational expertise with an agile, innovative and commercially focused approach, Tau develops learning solutions that respond to the evolving needs of businesses and their people across the region.

POSITION PURPOSE

Tau is a member of the Taylor's Education Group, one of Southeast Asia's largest and most established education groups. We equip Southeast Asian organisations with the leadership and technology skills and talent to succeed. Our learning and talent solutions are tailored, experiential, and designed for real-world impact. We are backed by the scale, credibility, and shared infrastructure of a group, and we operate with the pace and experimental instinct of a young business.

We are building a new B2B corporate learning and development platform and are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help define and build the product from the ground up. As one of our founding team members, you will own the product lifecycle from understanding customer problems through to launching features that deliver measurable value. You will work closely with Engineering, Learning, Design, Operations, Commercial, and enterprise clients to ensure we are building the right product at the right time.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with execution. One day you might be interviewing customers or facilitating a discovery workshop; the next you could be writing user stories, refining the backlog, analysing product metrics, or working alongside engineers to unblock delivery.

We are a team that genuinely cares about learning, about each other, and about creating products that make a meaningful difference for organisations and learners. If that resonates with you, we'd love to meet you.

What you will do

1 | Product strategy and discovery

  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their challenges, and the learning and development landscape.

  • Work closely with enterprise clients, internal stakeholders, and end users to identify opportunities and validate product ideas.

  • Translate customer needs into a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with business objectives.

  • Balance customer requests with long-term product strategy, making thoughtful prioritisation decisions based on value and impact.

  • Continuously validate assumptions through research, experimentation, and feedback.

  • Own the product backlog and ensure it reflects business priorities and customer value.

  • Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements that enable engineering teams to deliver efficiently.

  • Work closely with Engineering throughout the development lifecycle, providing clarity and making timely decisions.

  • Collaborate with Learning teams to integrate learning content, assessments, analytics, and immersive learning experiences into the platform.

  • Support feature releases by coordinating testing, rollout plans, stakeholder communications, and feedback collection.

3 | Product optimisation

  • Define success metrics for new features and monitor product performance after launch.

  • Analyse user behaviour, customer feedback, and product data to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to drive continuous product enhancement.

  • Champion simplicity, usability, accessibility, and user experience across every part of the platform.

4 | Collaboration and leadership

  • Partner closely with Commercial and Customer Success teams to understand market needs and customer priorities.

  • Work alongside Learning and Operations teams to ensure the platform supports evolving client requirements.

  • Facilitate product workshops, roadmap discussions, backlog refinement sessions, and sprint planning.

  • Act as the voice of the customer while balancing business goals, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.

  • Help establish scalable product management practices as the company grows.

Our culture

We are early-stage, which means there is no established playbook - and there is a clear set of values that defines how we work.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building products, solving meaningful problems, and helping shape the company from the very beginning.

1 | Passionate about people and learning

We believe learning changes lives. We invest in our own growth while building products that help others grow.

2 | Growth mindset

We welcome curiosity, experimentation, and feedback. We believe the best products come from continuous learning.

3 | Driven by continuous improvement

We regularly measure outcomes, learn from customers, and iterate quickly to build better products.

4 | Client and learner success first

Every product decision should create meaningful value for our clients and learners.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience building digital products, ideally in SaaS.

  • Proven experience taking products from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Strong customer discovery and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent ability to translate customer problems into clear product requirements and user stories.

  • Experience managing product backlogs and working within Agile development teams.

  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.

  • Comfortable working closely with engineers and understanding technical trade-offs.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform product decisions.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve.

  • Experience building enterprise B2B SaaS products.

  • Experience within Learning & Development, HR Tech, EdTech, or employee experience platforms.

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), SCORM, xAPI, or learning analytics.

  • Experience working with AI-enabled products, recommendation engines, or data-driven personalisation.

  • Experience with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4, or similar platforms.

  • Experience working in an early-stage startup or as one of the first product hires.

  • Basic UX/UI design understanding and experience collaborating with designers.

  • Knowledge of enterprise identity, SSO, integrations, and API-based products.

You will thrive here if you

  • Enjoy talking to customers as much as building products.

  • Naturally ask \"why?\" before deciding \"what?\"

  • Can balance long-term strategy with day-to-day execution.

  • Are comfortable making decisions without having every answer.

  • Enjoy collaborating with engineers, designers, learning specialists, and commercial teams.

  • Take ownership and are excited about helping shape both the product and the company.

What success looks like

  • The product roadmap is clearly aligned with customer needs and business priorities.

  • Engineering teams have clear requirements, well-prioritized backlogs, and enough context to deliver efficiently.

  • Customers feel heard because their feedback is actively incorporated into product decisions.

  • Features are launched successfully, adopted by users, and continuously improved using customer feedback and product data.

  • Product becomes a strategic advantage for the company, helping us deliver exceptional learning experiences and win enterprise clients.
