Job summary

Our Client in Malaysia seeks a Buyer cum Planner to manage procurement and material planning, ensuring continuous supply and optimal inventory. You will work with suppliers and internal teams to meet demand while cutting costs and maintaining quality.

Mandarin communication is essential for liaising with Chinese vendors. The role requires 2–5 years in purchasing/planning, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant purchasing/planning experience.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (written and verbal) for liaising with vendors in China.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and select suppliers for materials and services.
• Issue POs and ensure timely delivery; negotiate pricing and contracts.
• Analyze demand forecasts and create material requirements plans (MRP); monitor stock levels.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse and logistics on scheduling.
• Prepare reports on purchasing trends, cost savings and inventory status.
