Job summary

PENTAS FLORA is seeking a Process Engineer to support the scheduled waste plant. You will oversee process improvement, monitor performance, and assist in installation, commissioning, and start-up activities at Demak Laut, Sarawak.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Holds a DOE competent person certificate (e.g. BP or PCP) or is willing and able to obtain one.
• 2 to 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, chemical, refinery, waste management, oil & gas, or industrial processing plants.
• Exposure to plant setup, commissioning, project engineering, maintenance, or process improvement is an added advantage.
• Able to read and understand basic engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Basic knowledge of industrial utilities, process equipment, pumps, motors, piping systems, and control systems.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with willingness to learn in a plant environment.
• Experience with data analysis tools or software (e.g. Excel, Minitab).
• Good interpersonal skills, and able to work closely with Operations, Engineering, contractors, suppliers, and other relevant departments.
• Mandarin proficiency is required for communication with China-based technical teams, suppliers, and contractors.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites, including Demak Laut, Sarawak.

• Ensure all work follows HSE and environmental (DOE) requirements
• Maintain effluent monitoring and DOE reporting where applicable
• Maintain cooperation with other departments
• Work closely with the production team, contractors, and suppliers
• Plan processes according to demand and supply
• Schedule maintenance and cleaning of plant machinery
• Support installation, commissioning, and start-up activities
• Review drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
