Job summary

Razer Gold is seeking an experienced Principal Java Engineer to lead backend system development and modernization. You will report to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering and collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive the core platform forward.

The role requires 8+ years in Java-based ecommerce backends, deep JVM tuning knowledge, and experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.
8+ years of experience in E-Commerce Java based core system design and implementation.
Experience in building highly scalable, high availability online system.
Solid hands-on experience in JVM tuning and heap dump analysis. Good understanding of GC mechanisms and familiarity of Java profiling.
Experience in .Net system is a huge plus.
Experience in DB system, especially PostgreSQL, MySQL DB and Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with at least one of major public cloud services, especially AWS.
Experience in CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins.

Responsibilities

Lead overall backend system development and modernization efforts.
Engage with product and partner teams for business and technical requirements.
Review technical designs and implementations, ensuring high quality code.
Guide the team to tackle challenging technical issues and drive migration to new tech stack.
Grow the team and prepare for future technical challenges.
