Our NI Emerson Procurement team is growing and we’re looking for a Global Commodity Manager based in Penang, Malaysia to support our portfolio of custom mechanical commodities. This person will have a passion for collaboration, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to finding cost‑saving solutions. The ideal candidate will have a background in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain and will be responsible for driving supplier performance, reducing total cost of ownership, and optimizing our supply chain process.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Creating and implementing a global strategy and collaboration model for custom mechanical commodities.
  • Building relationships on a global, regional, and local scale to become a trusted advisor with collaborators in order to ensure goals are aligned and achieved.
  • Identifying areas of opportunity and completing activities to fulfil cost, process, efficiency, and sustainability goals.
  • Leading procurement negotiations, source‑to‑contract and supplier management activities which generate best‑in‑class outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends and assess potential risks and opportunities.
  • Building excellent supplier relationships whereby procurement is seen as a key decision‑maker.
  • Continuing to stay updated on industry, market, and business standard methodologies and new technologies.
  • Evangelizing the NI culture, guiding principles & core values.
Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a strategic Procurement role within a multinational organization; prior experience in managing the specialized commodities would be highly advantageous.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects with change management sensibilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with good global cultural awareness.
