Cha:Coal in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced barista to craft matcha, tea, coffee and specialty drinks to SOPs while ensuring consistency and presentation. The role emphasizes high-quality beverage preparation with attention to detail, in a fast-paced kiosk environment.

The ideal candidate communicates in Mandarin and English, is friendly and reliable, and willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays while maintaining hygiene and excellent service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as barista/tea staff; specialty coffee/tea/matcha is an advantage.
• Passionate about Japanese matcha culture, tea preparation, and high-quality beverages.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin and English.
• Friendly, energetic, customer-focused with good communication in a fast-paced kiosk.
• Able to follow recipes, operate POS and beverage equipment, maintain hygiene, and keep the kiosk clean.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays with reliability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Premium Beverages & Desserts: craft matcha, tea, coffee, and specialty drinks per SOPs with consistency.
• Deliver Excellent Customer Experience: greet customers, suggest items, process orders and payments.
• Maintain Outlet Standards: keep kiosk clean, replenish ingredients, monitor inventory and safety procedures.
