Job summary

XP Power is a global leader in providing essential power solutions and designs power controllers for a wide range of equipment. We are looking for a Test Technician to test, diagnose, rework and verify PSU sub‑components and final products, following drawings and procedures, with thorough documentation and cross‑shift communication.

The role requires 2–3 years of electronics testing experience, ability to read schematics, and proficiency with Power/diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience as a test technician in a similar electronics company.
• Electronics test, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
• Experience testing and diagnosing electronic products, power supplies and related products.
• Ability to work from electrical schematics and change notices, and use standard electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to make common mechanical connections associated with power supply testing.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Familiarity with SAP systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Test, diagnose, rework, and verify PSU sub‑components and final electronic products of moderate to high complexity as prescribed by drawings, electrical schematics, and/or procedures.
• Strong ability to test and diagnose units with minimal direction.
• Record failure data and test issues in databases as required. Work with Test engineers to document product repair changes. Evaluate results and recommend corrective action when required.
• Recommend design, update, and efficiency improvements to test setup. Support the assembly and setup of test stations to use during unit testing.
• Prepare detailed reports and test procedures documenting the results, methods and equipment used in product evaluation.
• Strong communication skills with peers, across shifts, and with support organisations.
• Engage in process improvement teams and activities.
