Bayan Lepas, PenangJob DescriptionWe are looking for an investigative debug engineer to join our post-silicon validation team. You'll take on the failures that don't have an obvious cause: intermittent link drops, platforms that fail to boot or enumerate, and issues that only show up under certain conditions. Your job is to find the root cause and prove it. This role suits someone who doesn't stop at \"it failed.\" You form a hypothesis, isolate variables, and keep going until you know why. What you'll do: • Investigate and debug complex silicon, platform, and system-level failures • Perform root cause analysis and drive issues to closure across validation, design, firmware, BIOS, and architecture teams • Analyze failure symptoms, logs, traces, waveforms, and system behavior to identify underlying causes • Lead technical debug discussions and coordinate issue resolution activities across cross-functional teams • Support platform bring-up, feature enablement, and post-silicon validation activities • Perform failure reproduction, issue isolation, and validation of corrective actions • Drive bug triage, issue prioritization, and technical risk assessments • Develop debug methodologies and improve validation efficiency through scripting and automation • Generate technical reports and communicate findings clearly to project stakeholdersRequirementsWhat we're looking for: • 5+ years of experience in: • Post-Silicon Validation • Silicon Debug • Product Development • Electrical Validation • System Validation • Platform Validation • Strong root cause analysis and debugging experience • Ability to independently investigate failures and drive issues to closure • Experience working in x86 PC, Client, Mobile, Server, or similar SoC environments • Strong understanding of hardware-software interactions • Experience working with BIOS, firmware, validation, design, and architecture teams • Hands-on experience with: • Oscilloscopes • Logic Analyzers • Protocol Analyzers • JTAG / ITP / Debug tools Preferred Experience with: • Power Management • DDR / Memory • High-Speed IO • PCIe • Python or automation scripting experience • Experience leading debug activities, bug triage, or technical forums
