Job summary

Swiss Re in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a senior actuarial professional to join the APAX Portfolio Management team. You will optimise the in-force portfolio, perform technical analyses, and lead discussions with clients and internal stakeholders across Asia Pacific (excl. China).

The role requires fellowship-level actuarial credentials, 5+ years in L&H valuation/pricing, and strong IFRS17 knowledge. Based in Malaysia, you will collaborate with global partners to drive value and manage risk for

Qualifications

• Fellowship-qualified actuary (or nearing qualification) with recognised actuarial body.
• Minimum 5 years of life & health valuation and pricing experience in reinsurance, insurance or consulting.
• Experience with reinsurers or direct life offices dealing with reinsurance relationships is advantageous.
• Strong ability to independently solve complex commercial problems.
• End-to-end execution mindset and ability to connect the L&H value chain.
• Expert knowledge of liability portfolio management: experience studies, pricing, valuations, and performance analysis.
• Working knowledge of IFRS17 reporting; traditional and market-consistent embedded value methods.
• Awareness of APAX L&H market (ANZ preferred but not mandatory).
• Analytical skills with solid data, systems, actuarial models and reporting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to lead meetings and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support portfolio management on in-force portfolios to optimise value and manage risk.
• Conduct technical analyses, prepare documentation and present to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with pricing, valuation and finance teams; manage junior resources as needed.
• Support product changes and treaty reviews for in-force portfolios.
• Prepare monitoring analyses and contribute to portfolio steering and risk management.
• Assist with pre- and post-deal transaction support and governance processes.
• Provide ad-hoc technical support to the broader Portfolio Management team.
