Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, is seeking a proactive Preventive Maintenance Technician to support HVAC and mechanical systems on-site. You will follow PM plans, perform inspections, and help ensure safe, reliable operation of facility equipment.

Fresh graduates are welcome; basic knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and safety practices is preferred. You will work in a team, document findings, and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or related field.
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Willing to learn preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Able to work in a team and follow SOPs and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and basic corrective maintenance for HVAC/mechanical equipment.
• Perform PM activities per Job Plans, SOPs, checklists and schedules.
• Inspect equipment for abnormalities, leaks, vibration or temperature issues.
• Record PM findings in checklists and work orders; raise CM orders when needed.
• Coordinate with PM Lead and team; maintain tools and housekeeping.
• Support testing and functional checks after maintenance; escalate critical issues.

Preventive Maintenance Technician

• - ## Responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic corrective maintenance for facility HVAC and mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• - ## The technician will perform scheduled PM activities according to approved Job Plans, SOPs, checklists, safety requirements, and maintenance schedules.
• - ## Inspect equipment condition and identify abnormal conditions, defects, leakage, vibration, noise, temperature, and other abnormalities.
• - ## Perform cleaning, lubrication, tightening, adjustment, inspection, and replacement of wear-and-tear components.
• - ## Record PM findings accurately in checklists, work orders, and maintenance systems.
• - ## Raise corrective maintenance (CM) work orders when defects or abnormal conditions are identified.
• - ## Follow approved Job Plans, SOPs, risk assessments, and Permit to Work requirements.
• - ## Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with site EHS requirements.
• - ## Support troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance when required.
• - ## Coordinate with the PM Lead, Facilities Engineer, SME, and System Owner for equipment issues.
• - ## Maintain good housekeeping after completion of maintenance activities.
• - ## Ensure tools, spare parts, and equipment are properly maintained and available for PM activities.
• - ## Support equipment testing and functional checks after maintenance.
• - ## Escalate critical equipment abnormalities and potential failures immediately.
• - ## Support audits and provide maintenance records when required.

Qualification & Experience

• - ## Certificate or Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• - ## Fresh graduates / fresh candidates are encouraged to apply.
• - ## Basic knowledge of refrigeration, air-conditioning, HVAC and mechanical systems.
• - ## Willing to learn preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of facility equipment.
• - ## Basic knowledge of safety requirements and maintenance practices.
• - ## Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions, Job Plans and SOPs.
• - ## Candidates with practical training, internship, or hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance will have an added advantage.
