Job summary

Jabil in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Automation team. You will design electrical control circuits, select components, and generate BOMs, while developing PLC and HMI programs and overseeing on-site commissioning.

You will work with motion control for servo and stepper systems, integrate RS232/485, Modbus TCP and EtherCAT, and produce documentation and manuals.

Qualifications

• College degree in Electrical Automation, Mechatronics or related field.
• Proficient in PLC/HMI programming on multiple brands and CoDeSys.
• Experience with servo/stepper motion control and tuning.
• Familiar with RS232/485, Modbus TCP and EtherCAT communications.
• Capable of electrical circuit design and BOM generation.
• Experienced in on-site commissioning and troubleshooting.
• 3–5 years of independent electrical development for non-standard equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design and development for new projects.
• Plan and draw electrical schematic diagrams and BOMs.
• Develop PLC/HMI programs and oversee on-site commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment and systems.
• Prepare electrical specifications and operation manuals.

Job description

College degree or above, major in Electrical Automation, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields.

Proficient in programming PLC and HMI of brands such as Inovance, Xinje and Omron, with mastery of at least one brand; able to program on the CoDeSys platform and deliver medium-to-large 0-to-1 projects.

Skilled in motion control of servo and stepping motors from brands such as Inovance and Leadshine, and proficient in servo and stepping parameter tuning.

Familiar with bus communication technologies including RS232/485, Modbus TCP and EtherCAT.

Capable of designing electrical control circuits and selecting electrical components; proficient in using EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.

Basic knowledge of vision application technologies.

Over 3–5 years of independent electrical development and design experience for non-standard equipment.

Strong ability to work under pressure, follow work arrangements, and cooperate with overtime and business trips; good communication skills and teamwork spirit.

Responsibility

Provide electrical technical support for new project evaluation, and plan and develop electrical evaluation plans.

Select electrical components and generate BOM lists.

Plan and draw electrical schematic diagrams.

Develop equipment programs (including PLC, HMI, robots, motion control, etc.), conduct on-site commissioning and handover, and perform troubleshooting and maintenance.

Compile equipment electrical specifications, operation manuals and relevant documentation.

Complete other tasks assigned by supervisors.
