We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant Operator to join the team at CHEMPLASA TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Pasir Gudang, Johor. As a Plant Operator, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that all plant equipment and processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position is essential to maintaining our production schedules, product quality, and operational safety standards. You will be responsible for monitoring equipment performance, conducting routine maintenance checks, and responding promptly to any operational issues that arise.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate plant machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
• Record and maintain accurate logs of production data, equipment readings, and any incidents or anomalies that occur during shifts
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and Escalate problems to maintenance personnel when necessary
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times whilst working on the plant floor
• Assist in the setup and configuration of production runs and adjust parameters as required to maintain product quality standards
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets and maintain operational efficiency
• Report any safety concerns or hazards immediately and participate in safety training and drills as required
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to housekeeping standards and waste management procedures

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Plant Operator or in a similar manufacturing or production role within the machinery or chemical processing industry
• Strong understanding of plant operations, equipment functionality, and basic mechanical or electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, gauges, and control system displays accurately
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing and chemical processing facilities
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to notice inconsistencies in equipment performance or production output
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a shift-based environment
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexible shifts as required by operational needs
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift moderately heavy items, and work in varying environmental conditions
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in plant operations, machinery operation, or industrial safety are advantageous
• Previous experience in chemical manufacturing or processing environments is highly desirable
