Job summary

Avery Dennison Corporation in Kulim, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Material Planning and Production Planning professional to oversee the plant's short-, mid-, and long-term material needs. This strategic role will eventually lead overall planning and drive supply chain improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of working experience with team management in manufacturing.
• At least 10 years in material planning, production planning, control and management in foreign invested company.
• Good knowledge of material planning, scheduling, inventory control and production control.
• Proficient data analysis and English skills.

Responsibilities

• Material Planning: coordinate with Demand and Production Planning to ensure proper short-, mid-, and long-term material demand and purchasing.
• Production Planning: forecast management for respective production lines and inventory targets.
• Inventory management to meet on-time delivery and improve inventory performance.
• Capacity analysis and improvement; quarterly production planning based on history and forecast.
• Own the production schedule to meet delivery targets and reduce lead times.
• Maintain communication with customers and manage outsourcing; lead Oracle launch in Operations.
• Participate with finance to align sales, margins and spending plans; coach and lead the team.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

This position reports to the Plant Manager, Kulim and will be responsible for planning material and production requirements to support the plant's short-, mid-, and long-term needs. This is a strategic position with the expectation that the candidate will eventually take over overall Material Planning and Production Planning.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Material Planning:

The person will be working very closely with the Demand and Production Planning to ensure direct materials and consumables short, mid and long term demand are properly understood, aligned, planned and purchased.

The person will be responsible and accountable to ensure that the material inventory levels are kept within our forecast and work with Procurement, Global Procurement and Suppliers to continuously drive improvements in terms of lead time, pricing, sourcing for business continuity, quality and delivery.

Prepare monthly reports and quarterly reports such as KPI report, Risk Inventory Report, Spend Data Report for cost saving, Supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) Performance Report and Supplier Performance Review Report.

Production Planning:

Production planning and forecast management for respective production lines.

Inventory management to streamline production, meet on-time delivery and achieve inventory performance targets.

Capacity analysis and improvement.

Production planning by quarterly according to the analysis of historical order, forecast, capacity and inventory status.

Overall responsible for production schedule to meet delivery targets and shorten end-to-end lead time.

Keep good communication and relationship with customers.

Outsourcing management.

Own full Oracle launch in Operation.

People management and coaching.

Work with the financial departments to come up with sales, contribution margin and spending plan, drive execution to meet the target.

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Material Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent.

Minimum five (5) years of working experience and team management experience in the related field and manufacturing environment.

At least 10 years experience in material planning, production planning, control and management in foreign invested company.

Good knowledge of material plan, production plan, scheduling, inventory control and production control.

Good data analysis ability and computer application.

Flexibility for trouble shooting.

Good sense of customer service.

Good knowledge of Enterprise resource planning system (Oracle experience is preferred )

Good English ability, both written and oral;

Proactive and highly responsible attitude.

Good leadership skills.

Ability to work under stress.

Good communication skills in both written and verbal.
