MECHATRONICS MALAYSIA is seeking a Materials Planner to ensure timely material availability for production lines, manage shortages, and mitigate supply risks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires 2–5 years in material planning and strong skills in MRP/ERP, Excel, and data analysis, with a focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field; APICS CPIM/CSCP adds advantage.
2–5 years in material planning or supply chain in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP and inventory control principles.

Responsibilities

Ensure timely material availability to support production.
Manage shortages through coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Monitor and optimize inventory to support build plans and on-time delivery.
Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, production, and logistics teams.
Track material requirements and forecast demand in ERP/MRP.
Prepare planning reports, inventory analysis, and status updates.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure timely availability of materials to support production requirements and prevent supply disruptions.
Manage material shortages through effective coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Proactively identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of operations.
Monitor and optimize inventory levels to support production build plans while ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
Collaborate closely with procurement, warehouse, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Track and analyze material requirements, forecast demand, and maintain accurate planning data in the ERP/MRP system.
Prepare and maintain planning reports, inventory analysis, and material status updates for management review.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control, material planning, and supply chain efficiency.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP will be an added advantage.
Candidates with a Diploma and relevant working experience may also be considered.

Working Experience

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, inventory management, or related functions within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of material planning, MRP/ERP systems, and inventory control principles.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shortages, risks, and supply constraints effectively.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for planning, reporting, and inventory monitoring.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
