Job summary

Velocity Energy Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking a project engineer to handle sourcing of piping and related products, prepare quotations, and support pre-sales activities. You will liaise with suppliers, prepare project documentation, and coordinate orders to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires 2+ years in project engineering or technical support, strong piping knowledge, and fluent English communication. Applicant should be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project engineering, technical support, or execution roles.
• Strong technical knowledge in piping and related products.
• Experience in preparing project documentation, technical submissions, and client deliverables.
• Able to support pre-sales activities, quotations, and technical clarifications.
• Experience in oil & gas, marine, or offshore projects preferred.
• Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, especially in Excel tabulation and documentation.
• Fluent English communication (writing and speaking).
• Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with MS Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and prepare sales quotations.
• Source piping and other products as requested by customers.
• Make sourcing decisions considering price, duty, freight, and quality.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers for best interest of company and customers.
• Provide timely and professional responses to clients.
• Prepare quotations and perform price comparisons within deadlines.
• Provide pre-sales and technical support to customers.
• Prepare project documentation as per customer requirements and submit on time.
• Process orders and monitor delivery status with customer service; liaise with client.
• Follow up with customers for all assigned packages.
• Coordinate with logistics for timely shipment to customers.
• Respond promptly to customer feedback and handle inquiries and complaints.
• Contribute to team effort and undertake ad-hoc assignments as needed.

• Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance and quality.
• Negotiate price with Supplier, term and conditions that protect the best interest of company and its customer.
• Provide excellent response to client and professionalism at all time.
• To prepare and provide quotation to client and make price comparison within the timeline given.
• To provide pre-sales and technical support to customer.
• To prepare project documentation as per customer requirement and submit within expected deadline.
