Job summary

IMM HEALTHCARE SDN. BHD. is seeking a graduate physiotherapist to join our rehabilitation team in Malaysia.

You will conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized rehab programs, and deliver therapeutic interventions to improve mobility and independence for patients, including seniors. Collaboration with doctors and other clinicians is essential, with ongoing learning of new rehab technologies in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy, Sport Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution.

• Exhibit excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals. Proficiency in additional language is an advantage.
• Demonstrate a strong foundational understanding of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy techniques.
• Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments to identify physical limitations and develop individualized rehabilitation and exercises programs.
• Proficiency in applying various physical therapy techniques to facilitate patient recovery and improve mobility.
• Knowledge of common medical conditions and their impact on physical function, particularly within the senior care industry.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and innovative rehab solutions within a dynamic healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including relevant medical history, functional screening, physical examinations, and movement assessments to identify individual rehabilitation needs and goals.
• Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercise programmes based on clinical findings, functional limitations, patient goals and evidence-based practice.
• Provide physiotherapy interventions and rehabilitation exercises, including therapeutic exercises, mobility and strengthening programmes, manual therapy, electrotherapy, balance and functional training as appropriate to the patient’s condition.
• Guide and supervise patients through safe and effective rehabilitation exercises, ensuring proper technique, appropriate progression, and adherence to prescribed programmes.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans and exercise programmes according to changes in functional status, performance, and rehabilitation goals.
• Educate patients and their families or caregivers on their condition, exercise techniques, home programmes, injury prevention, and strategies to support long-term mobility, independence and overall wellness.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation, including assessment findings, treatment interventions, exercise programmes, progress notes, and relevant outcomes in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
• Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, rehabilitation exercise therapists, doctors, dietitians and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and holistic patient care.
• Assist in the delivery and development of rehabilitation, strength, mobility, balance, falls prevention, and healthy ageing programmes according to the centre’s services and patient needs.
• Ensure all treatment and exercise sessions are conducted safely, professionally, and in accordance with established clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Stay updated on current rehabilitation practices, exercise principles, and relevant clinical developments to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of patient care.
• Support other operational and clinical activities of the rehabilitation centre, including patient education, wellness programmes, group sessions, and community-based activities when required.
