KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital in Kuala Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support the Pharmacy Department in dispensing, preparation of drugs, and repacking.
You will ensure accuracy of prescriptions, proper labeling, stock management, and assist pharmacists in ward inspections, with adherence to MSQH requirements. This role offers career development in a busy hospital setting and requires attention to safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
To screen in-coming prescription.
Toensure right drugs inappropriate dosesare given.
To fill the prescription according to the directions given.
To ensureappropriate labellinginstructions are included.
Tocountercheckthe dispensed drugs against the prescription.
To ensure accuracy in all aspect.
To dispense the drug to the patient and provide the necessary instruction.
To ensure that the right drugs are given to the right patient.
To compound locations and mixtures and prepares dilutions for stock and for extemporaneous use.
To provide patients with certain preparations not available in the market.
Torepack bulk drugs into suitable units for dispensing.
To make dispensing easy.
To indent for drugs, containers and labels for pharmacy use wheneverrequired.
To ensure ample stock available.
Toassistin stock-taking.
To ensurestocktaking is completed asrequired.
ToassistPharmacist(s) in wardinspection.
Tocomply withMSQHprocedure.
To do cytotoxic drugreconstitution (whenrequired).
To ensure preparation are safe, sterile & correct.
Adhere to all Acts, Laws, and Rules and Regulationgoverning the pharmacy services.
Compliance with hospital and government legislation requirement.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-charge and Pharmacist.
Responding to all duties given.
To carry out duties as an employee as stipulatedin Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations1994: -

Ensure all policiesand procedures of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, OHSAS18001and/or Hospital Accreditation are adhered to and recordsmaintained,if and whenthese programs are implemented.
Conformance to ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and / or Hospital accreditation requirements.
Prompt and effective action in taking corrective measures in cases of ISO 14001, OHSAS18001and/or Hospital Accreditation non-conformance.
MINIMUM PREFERRED
Diploma in PharmacyPharmacy.
Certificate in Pharmacy (KKM).
Atleast1year of relevant workor internshipexperienceinHospital/Retail Pharmacy.
Preferably at least 2 years of relevant work experience as a PharmacyTechnicianinHospital/Retail Pharmacy.
Experience in a relevant specialist area of pharmacy practice includingaseptic technique.
Able to work in a fast-paced, process driven environment.
