Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a technical support specialist for petrochemical and refining units in Malaysia. You will assist, troubleshoot, and optimize operations, monitor performance, and contribute to site start-ups and safety compliance.

The role involves preparing technical documentation, delivering customer trainings, and collaborating with regional experts. Travel and English proficiency are required, with opportunities for international training.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Understanding of petrochemical processes and unit operations.
Minimum 1 year of refining or petrochemical operational experience is advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel frequently for customer and project support activities.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for petrochemical and refining units before and after commissioning.
Monitor unit performance and analyse operational data.
Assist customers with troubleshooting and process optimisation.
Support site start-ups, inspections, catalyst loading, and activation activities.
Prepare technical reports, procedures, and service documentation.
Deliver technical training sessions for customers.
Collaborate with regional technical experts and commercial teams.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.
