Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking an experienced Electrical PCB Layout Engineer to join our team in Pasir Gudang, Johor. You will work with a cross-functional team to develop robot and automation system controls, ensuring robust PCB designs and documentation.

You will create layouts in Altium, interpret schematics, and collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to deliver complete product solutions. Onsite work with global exposure and occasional coordination across time zones is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on PCB layout experience.
• Strong expertise in Altium Designer and Gerber viewing tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351).
• Expertise in Altium symbols and footprints creation and library maintenance.
• Comfortable collaborating with geographically distributed teams and willing to attend early/late calls.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Interpret schematics and convert them into manufacturable PCB designs.
• Develop multilayer PCB designs considering signal integrity, power integrity, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
• Perform component placement, routing, and design optimization.
• Generate fabrication and assembly drawings, Gerber files, and manufacturing documentation.
• Define PCB layer stack-ups with fabrication vendors; run DRC per standards.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to resolve layout issues and optimize board performance.
• Support prototype builds, design reviews, debugging, and ECOs.
• Interface with fabrication/assembly vendors to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Maintain libraries, footprints, and PCB layout standards.
