Job summary

Orthopaedic Specialist Centre in Subang Jaya is seeking a caring and responsible Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to provide hands-on support to patients and the nursing team in daily care activities.

You will assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and help maintain a safe, clean ward while following infection control practices. Training provided; full-time shifts include weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of patient care procedures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, compassionate, responsible and able to work closely with patients.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Support patients with positioning, transfers, walking, and other mobility needs.
• Monitor and record basic patient observations and report changes to the nursing team.
• Assist nurses and healthcare professionals in preparing patients for procedures and treatments.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients throughout their hospital stay.
• Assist with patient meals, including accurate meal ordering and serving.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within patient rooms and the ward.
• Support infection control practices, including changing bed linen and handling used equipment appropriately.
• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.
• Maintain accurate patient care documentation and promptly report incidents or concerns.
• Assist with stock inventory and other departmental duties as assigned.
