Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity in Malaysia is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to respond to patient needs promptly and support daily living activities under supervision.

You will follow SOPs, assist with mobility, feeding, bathing, and personal care; coordinate with other departments for tests or admissions; and help with filing of patient records.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM certificate or Diploma in Healthcare preferred.
• Possess prior experience as Patient Care Assistant.
• Able to commit to 3 shifts (am / p.m. / midnight), rotating schedule.
• Able to comply with uniform policy (no visible tattoos, elbow-length sleeves).

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient needs or queries promptly and follow up appropriately.
• Coordinate patient transfers to other departments for diagnostic tests, lab investigations or admission if necessary.
• Ensure forms such as lab forms and charge forms are filled and patient identifications are checked.
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation and mobility (e.g., wheelchairs).
• Perform administrative tasks including proper filing of patients' records.

Education

Job description

Respond to patient needs or queries promptly and follow up appropriately.

Adhering to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instruction and policies for all procedures carried out in all areas assigned.

Assisting in activities daily living of patient e.g. feeding (except tube feeding) & assist in feeding medicine; turning, back care, making beds, ambulation; getting in and out of bed, help in bathing, showering and personal hygiene; help in toileting; help in dressing and undressing clothes; and provision of emotional support.

Coordinate patient to other departments for diagnostic tests, lab investigations or admission if necessary.

Ensure appropriate forms such as lab forms, charge forms etc are filled up as ordered by Doctor and checked correct patient identifications.

Assist patients with transfers, ambulation and other mobility e.g. wheelchairs.

Performing administrative jobs including proper and correct filing of patients’ records

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum SPM Certificate or Diploma in Healthcare will be advantage

Basic Salary Range : RM 1700 - RM 2300

Acceptable for another non-related Diploma Certificate

Possess prior experience as Patient Care Assistant

Performing range of patient care according to prescribed methods, techniques and standards

Able to commit to 3 shifts (a.m. / p.m. / midnight shifts, rotational)

Able to comply with uniform policy (i.e: no visible tattoos, elbow-length sleeve uniform)
