Job summary

SANY Group in Malaysia seeks a motivated legal professional to support the Dispute Resolution and Commercial Practice Group. The role involves daily litigation and IP/technology matters, research support for lawyers, and drafting of commercial agreements.

Ideal candidates hold an LLB and have strong English and Bahasa Malaysia skills, with proactive, independent work habits and the ability to collaborate in a team. A 6–12 month contract is expected.

Qualifications

• LLB degree from a recognised university.
• Prior litigation/IP tech experience is advantageous.
• Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently and in a team.
• Contract commitment of 6–12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day litigation and IP/tech matters in the Dispute Resolution/Commercial group.
• Undertake legal research and provide support to lawyers and partners.
• Translate court documents between English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Prepare cause papers, affidavits, court applications and submissions.
• Coordinate submission and filing of relevant court documents.
• Draft commercial agreements.
• Manage litigation/IP files.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists with the day-to-day Litigation / Intellectual Property & Technology matters in the Dispute Resolution / Commercial practice group.
• Undertake necessary legal research and provide legal support to lawyers and partners in the Dispute Resolution / Commercial practice group.
• Assist in translating court documents from English to Bahasa and vice versa.
• Assist with the preparation of cause papers, affidavits, applications to court and/or legal submissions.
• Responsible for preparing, compiling and coordinating the submission and filing of relevant court documents.
• Drafting/preparing commercial agreements.
• Assist in managing litigation / Intellectual Property & Technology files.

Requirements

• A minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
• Prior Litigation / IP Tech experience will be an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently and as a team.
• Able to commit to least 6 to 12-month contract.
